Welcome to CFS Medicine
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome  (CFS, sometimes called ME) is a diverse medical problem that is difficult to explain or treat effectively using psychological approaches alone. The causes vary from person to person but new studies have confirmed that people suffering with chronic fatigue symptoms have disordered energy production pathways. Our medical team recognises the need to support both mind and body,  providing an understanding and caring environment alongside specific nutritional, allergy, emotional and immune support programmes.

Our basic metabolic energy currency is called ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate), which is produced and re-cycled in specialised cellular components called mitochondria. We store sufficient ATP for just a few seconds of our energy requirments and it therefore undergoes a process of constant recycling. If production is reduced, then all energy requiring metabolic processes such as muscle contraction and brain function may be affected. We aim to support mitochondrial function and treat the underlying cause such as chronic infection, toxicity, allergy/ sensitivity and immune dysregulation.

This website, which has been developed by The Dove Clinic for Integrated Medicine, aims to outline some key management areas using safe and non-toxic approaches, for more information or to book a consultation please contact us.
